About Patricia Hill, Copywriter

A long time ago, when I was auditioning for a place at the New England Conservatory of Music, one of the panel members looked up from scanning my application essay and said, "You play very nicely. But have you ever considered being a writer?"

I was crushed.

In the end, they did accept me, but I took the hint—and now have over 25 years of experience in government, business, and nonprofit communications. After a stint as a foreign service officer with the U.S. Department of State, I held marketing and communications positions in financial services, health care, and educational publishing before launching my own company in 1999.

I hold a BA summa cum laude in international relations from United States International University and an MA in literature and writing from Vermont College. I publish poetry from time to time in journals and anthologies, and, when not working, entertain myself by reading anything I can get my hands on, plotting whole-house renovation projects, and solving math and logic problems.

And yes, I still play the piano. Nicely.
